Update: Export Control Violations

The Tennessee professor convicted of export control violations will be sentenced on July 1st.

In an unrelated incident, a Florida man was sentenced to 35 months in prison for illegally exporting aircraft parts for resale in Iran,  which violates the existing trade embargo.

In these cases, the individuals willingly broke the law. However, in some cases companies operate without the proper license and the corporation itself receives a hefty fine.

Most recently, Delphi Corporation exported triethanolmine to South Africa and China without a license and was fined $50,000 for 3 exporting incidents.
