New Feature: Trade Compliance Calendar

March 23, 2010

Today I added a brand new feature to Trade-Compliance.org – A handy calendar!

I have noticed that my posts on upcoming seminars, webinars, and conferences have been very popular, so I have decided to compile all these great events throughout the world into one easy-to-read Trade Compliance Calendar.

It is still sparse as I just created it today but I’ll be working the next few days to go through my many emails and tweets about trade compliance events to input them into the online calendar.

If you have an upcoming event that you would like to list on the calendar, please leave your event information, including a link, in the comments anywhere on this blog!

Are you a corporation in the U.S. sharing technology with a foreign national? Are you a university conducting research with foreign nationals? Then you could be exporting! Not all exports are physical commodities, nor must they physically leave the country to be classified as an export. These are classified as “deemed exports,” or transfers of controlled information and technical data to foreign nationals.

    Speak with the experts!

Experts from the Bureau of Industry and Security, Department of Defense, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and Export Enforcement Office will share how to identify a deemed export transaction, what it means to your operations and how to address deemed export matters. Learn from the experts how your university or corporation can comply with U.S. export regulations, licensing requirements and enforcement practices.

    Seminar topics include:
    • What is a deemed export
    • Deemed export jurisdiction
    • License application process
    • Implementing deemed export control program at your company/university
    • Technology Control Panel
    • Common reasons for license denial
    • Deemed Export Advisory Committee
    • US PTO role and function in the deemed exports world
    • Export Enforcement
